Johanna Murray is selected as one of "West Virginia's Wonder Women" by WV Living magazine. The annual recognition is given to 50 Appalachian women who are leaders in their field and work to make West Virginia a better state. Past honorees include Jennifer Gardner, Shelly Moore Capito and Jan Rader. According to WV Living magazine, these women are "movers and shakers, the makers, the can-doers and glass ceiling-breakers" in business, arts, law, government, education and non-profit organizations.
Murray is the Executive Director of The River House. Under her leadership, The River House gained a regional reputation as an intimate live music venue and participatory arts center. She is a Founder of the organization and has served as it's sole executive director since 2017
WOW! The River House is very honored to be named WV Living Magazine's 2018 "BEST MUSIC VENUE"!
There are amazing performance venues in West Virginia, so we're proud to be recognized for our part in this music-making community! And, while our venue may be smaller than some, we work hard to provide musical experiences that are memorable, multigenerational, affordable, and participatory. We wouldn't be where we are today without the support of our fans. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.
Stay tuned in 2019 for exciting, new, music programming to benefit the youth of Hampshire County. And check out our new "Sit & Stay Awhile" merchandise featuring the spirit of our River House Music program.
Thank you, WV Living Magazine!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising campaign on Kickstarter! Without members of the community, friends, and supporters we couldn't have done this alone.
We officially MET OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL to equip the classroom and performance spaces of The River House AND collected a little more to help support a family-friendly outdoor space - the "artful yard". Wow!!!
The River House is moving forward: windows and a front door have been installed, painting projects are underway and outdoor cleanup crews have transformed the river-front space. Motivation is high!
THANK YOU AGAIN!
