“I am excited and honored to be Executive Director of The River House”, Murray said. “Since I was a little girl, I can remember finding community through the arts and it is amazing to watch how The River House brings people together through the creative experience. I look forward to leading the organization for many years to come.”

The Board of Directors of The River House, Inc has named Johanna Murray as its first Executive Director. Murray previously served as the Arts Program Director. In her new role, Murray will be responsible for all aspects of The River House operations.

Murray is a studio arts major from Grinnell College and a talented painter, sculptor, vocalist and musician.

The River House is collaborating with Mountain View Solar, a local solar company out of Berkeley Springs, to install solar panels though their "Community Giveback" program. Mountain View Solar will donate a panel to The River House for every solar system installed in the area, with the "Phase 1" goal of 8 panels. Similar projects are being conducted at local non-profits: The Laurel Center, Habitat for Humanity, and local churches, among others.

Community members have already committed to four systems and The River House is halfway to reaching its initial goal!
