Join Executive Director Kayla Fehr as we sit down with our new gallery artist, Christy Dunkle.
Christy Dunkle (b. 1959, Columbus, OH) is a mixed media mosaic artist working in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
Christy studied art at Casper College (Associate of Arts) and the University of Northern Colorado (Bachelor of Visual Arts, magna cum laude) before receiving a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Christy worked as a community development director for 24 years prior to becoming a full-time artist. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the US, winning several awards including the Conley Award at the Maryland Federation of Art member show and best in show at the Beckley Art Center (WV) and Northville Art House (MI). Her mosaics were selected for the 31 Women exhibit at the Suffolk (VA) Art Gallery and the Daughter of the Stars exhibit at the Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery (VA) in 2025, both featuring the work of women artists from the mid-Atlantic region.
Christy Dunkle’s show hangs February 5th - March 29th.
