Come to The River House Art Gallery to meet September's featured artist, Susan Feller!
Susan was raised in the Appalachian Highlands of New Jersey and has called Hampshire County her home for the past 20 years. She is deeply connected to the West Virginia arts scene and is a juried artist at the Tamarack Foundation.
"Working with fibers, connects me with generations of artisans’ spirits. Due to the slow, repetitive process, there is time to dwell on natural subjects within my art and the materials selected. Now living in West Virginia, I have come full circle – back to the farm, and rural lifestyle of my youth.” - Susan Feller
Her fiberworks show will highlight the fragile environment of West Virginia, entitled: “Observing while traveling through…”, three generations of women in her family, entitled "Iconic Series", and an artistc expression of the times, entitled "Speaking today and everyday."
Visit her website to learn more about her and her work, especially "Year Study" in which she made 365 new works using all of the techniques she knows. www.ArtWools.com
