Sam & Joe Herrmann, David McLaughlin and Marshall Wilborn play music that draws from their respective backgrounds in the oldtime and bluegrass traditions. Songs and instrumentals from traditional and contemporary sources. Songs that express a range of experience that can make you laugh or make you cry and occasionally do both at the same time, ballads that tell stories of bad men and disappointed lovers. Instrumentals that will make you want to get up and dance or sit back and listen.

Marshall Wilborn, has been honored as the IBMA bass player of the year for 3 consecutive years (2008-2010).

David McLaughlin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnson_Mountain_Boys) was a founding member (1978) of The Johnson Mountain Boys.

Sam and Joe Herrmann (www.crittonhollow.com) have been the core of The Critton Hollow String Band since 1975.
