The Root 9 Saxophone Quartet was founded in January 2017. Based off of Route 9 in Jefferson County West Virginia, the Root 9 Saxophone Quartet plays music primarily arranged for the traditional French style of quartet literature but occasionally breaks away to more unconventional instrumentation as well. They play a variety of music ranging in styles and genres including gospel, classical, folk music, patriotic,rock, pop, ragtime, jazz and more.
