"Watercolor is my primary medium while Pyography (wood burning) has become my newest way to express the beauty that surrounds us. In January my work was juried into Tamarack showcasing “The Best of West Virginia” fine art and more. I began my art career in 2003 when I picked up a brush and discovered that I had been blessed with a wonderful talent. Over the years I have had the privilege of receiving formal instruction from several accredited international artists such as Joe Garcia, Tom Lynch, Adele Earnshaw and Phil Metzger, and am privileged to have developed lasting friendships with several of these artists. Today I take these gifts I was given to give to others. It’s a full circle of giving by bringing joy to; the new owner of the painting, a cancer family in need of financial assistance through “Art4Cancer” and knowing that my art makes a positive difference in the lives it touches."- Barbie
