Watercolor for Beginners

Learn about watercolor painting materials and techniques for applying paint to paper in a 3-hour session. No drawing is necessary. Participants will complete a small watercolor landscape by the end of the workshop.

Course fee (covering instruction and all materials) is $25.

Participants must be 10 or older.

Students will learn about watercolor materials and practice basic watercolor painting techniques such as layering to create dark values, preserving the white of the paper for light values, grading washes to create smooth transitions from light to dark, lifting, wet-into-wet washes, and more. By the end of the class, students will complete a small landscape in one color that will help participants apply many of these important watercolor skills.

All materials will be provided.
