Richard’s exploration of West Virginia continues with his latest film “Where Sky Meets Eternity.” This work documents a project involving twelve West Virginia artists, an endeavor which unfolded during the difficult pandemic years of 2020-2021. The art project began with a poet. His poem served as the initial inspiration for each consecutive artist to give their own form and expression to the concept they inherited from the prior artist. The project, now consisting of 12 independent artistic forms, each flowing from the other, culminates in a song, which captures and re-imagines, not only the poem that started it all, but an essence of West Virginia itself.

As a photographer and filmmaker, Richard Anderson has focused his keen and observant interest in the creative work of other artists, of the communities in which they live, and of the powerful and enduring role of Art in the life of our dynamic State. “Where Sky Meets Eternity” provides a rare glimpse into the creative process, into collaboration and into the greater community which Art serves.
