Where: The River House / Fort Edwards Walking Trails
Spring Foraging Walk and Traditional Food Prep: This workshop will be a two part demonstration including a foraging and plant ID walk along the trails at Fort Edwards accompanied with a talk about traditional methods of cooking and preparations with wild plants. Meaghan Moore is a forever student of the natural world and has always been fascinated by the history and traditions of the places she has lived. Meaghan is a trained herbalist and together with her husband, owns and operates Blooming Mountains Botanical Sanctuary in Hampshire County, WV. She has been foraging and gardening for most of her life and feels more at home with a crowd of plants, aka the forest, than in a crowd of people. Meaghan loves sharing her knowledge on all things herbalism, gardening, foraging, and mothering with all who will listen. Most of her days are spent on her homestead living close to the natural world, caring for thousands of plants, taking care of goats, chickens, horses, dogs, cats and any other critters in need of love, and raising two slightly feral children.
