dominique. moves between country, rock, and soul, chasing the truth that lives somewhere in the middle. Born Dominique Reid, she’s just a girl talking about life the best way she knows how: singing about love, heartache, faith, and all the messy moments in between. Her voice carries the weight of gospel and the grit of country, delivering storytelling that cuts straight to what’s real.
With both grandfathers as bishops, her first stage was the pulpit, singing gospel and Pentecostal songs that grounded her in rhythm and spirit. Offstage, she secretly tuned into the Country Music Channel, imagining herself in a genre that rarely reflected her. She picked up a guitar, and the songs came naturally, channeling a lineage of Black artists too often left out of the story.
After years performing as 'Nikki Morgan,' dominique. stepped into something more personal. She sees her voice as a form of ministry, and every lyric as an offering. For her, storytelling isn’t bound by genre. It’s about truth, memory, and making space for others to feel seen, especially those who have long gone unheard.
Fun Fact: As a teen, dominique. taught herself the bus routes just to get to the library. Public transit meant freedom, and public libraries still feel like home.
