DeAnna Blackwell is a West Virginia maker, educator, and small business owner dedicated to preserving traditional handmade crafts. For the past nine years, she has practiced and taught the art of natural soap making and soy candle making using time-honored methods and simple, plant-based ingredients. As the owner of Wild Nettle Apothecary and Redbird Café in Romney, WV, she brings an Appalachian spirit of resourcefulness, creativity, and community to her work. DeAnna is also a homeschooling mother of four who believes deeply in passing practical skills and folk traditions to the next generation. Through hands-on classes, she shares the heritage and joy of making everyday essentials by hand, connecting modern learners with traditional craft.
