Nature Journal Session w/ Joy Bridy

Do you stop to watch and listen to the river when you visit the River House? Are you surprised by the May birdsongs in the mornings, or find yourself looking to compare one leaf to another? Join us at The River House for a morning of Nature Journaling, gathering observations in both words and images. We’ll be able to walk the river’s edge, use field books and other tools, and share techniques and exercises to inspire our journal habits.

Whether you’ve been keeping a journals for years, or a budding beginner, we welcome you to come out and put pencil to paper in the company of other enthusiasts. Bring your journal (any notebook will do), any supplies you prefer (pencil, pens, colored pencils, watercolors), and an open mind to trying new materials and techniques. If you have field journals that you have created, bring them along to share as inspiration.

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes, as we’ll be outside. Depending on the covid climate, plan on wearing masks while we’re meeting as a group at the beginning and the end. The River House will be open, so we’ll be able to purchase refreshments or lunch, as needed.

All ages welcome!
