Workshop: Winter Seed Sowing 101

Join Mia Musolino in the Otter's Den and learn how to build your own mini greenhouse in a recycled container! Your mini greenhouses can be left outside all winter and in the spring you will have many seedlings to transplant. Learn how to use this method for your vegetable or flower garden without the need for the space or special equipment required for traditional seed starting indoors.

This Workshop is pay what you can, donations are encouraged to assist in covering soil costs. Seeds and soil will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own clean recycled bottles from home. Feel free to bring your own seeds if you have some you are planning for your garden.

Fun Fact:
Many native seeds need cold stratification to germinate. That is, they need repeated freeze and thaw after being planted.

No prior gardening experience is needed.
